Statement By FC Lokomotiv
Yesterday Lokomotiv hosted a Europa League game against Skenderbeu from Albania and secured a confident 2:0 victory. Our supporters had been eager to see European football at their stadium again. It had been anticipated as a holiday.
But the atmosphere at the stadium was spoilt by the group of people who chanted political slogans and called for violence.
FC Lokomotiv deeply regret this. We totally share UEFA’s ‘zero tolerance’ policy towards any form of discrimination.
We apologize to Skenderbeu and their fans for what happened at our stadium. We guarantee that those guilty of this act will be punished according to the law of the Russian Federation. We will take the necessary measures to prevent such actions from happening in the future.
FC Lokomotiv call on all their fans to stand united against discriminating and humiliating actions. We are confident the majority of the fans not only support their club and love football, but also recognize the negative actions at the stands are intolerable.
