Yuriy Syomin: The schedule is crazy
At the press-conference after the game against Rostov (0:0) Lokomotiv head coach Yuriy Syomin analyzed the match, told about the injured players, and criticized the schedule for the rest of the season.
- The teams had almost no opportunities. Firstly, we lacked some players. Secondly, we played three games in just one week and the team are our of form.
- Why didn't Ari play today?
- He picked up a minor injury and we decied to stay on the safe side. If he aggravates the injury we can lose him for the rest of the season. We cannot afford this.
- How is Ignatyev?
- I hope he will have recovered by the next fixture. It's the same situation as with Ari. We cannot afford losing the player for the rest of the season.
- How did you like Anton Miranchuk's first appearance?
- He had too little time. If he keeps working as he's doing now, he'll have more playing time.
- What do you think about Lokomotiv's schedule for the final third of the season?
- The schedule made by the Premier League is crazy. By the Russian Cup Final we will have played three games in just six days. It's impossible. I get a feeling people just paid no attention to the Cup when they were finalizing the League schedule. They had to give both teams a break. People will go to Sochi to see a festival. The Cup Final is meant to advertise our football, but instead we will see two exhausted teams. What will the national team do? Under such schedule the players' fitness will fail.
