Yuriy Syomin: Farfan made a good impression
Lokomotiv head coach Yuriy Syomin tells what he thinks of Jefferson Farfan's debut against Ufa (1:0) and shares his expectations of the forthcoming Russian Cup semifinal.
- An equal game. Of course, I'd love to see more opportunities. However, I want to thank the players for good job and discipline on the pitch. This gave us advantage.
- How did you like Farfan's debut?
- He made a good impression as well as the rest of the team. Farfan played well in the front and scored a goal, which is most important. I congratulate him on this first appearance. Now he needs to go on like this.
- Ufa failed to make a single shot on goal.
- Ufa are very dangerous on counters. The hosts kept attacking in the second half but we played well in defence. I have to note the players who demonstrated selfless play and were good at positioning.
- Is this game a rehearsal of the Cup semifinal?
- No. It was basically a six-point game because now we are very close to the group of leaders. I think both teams took this match very seriously. In just three days there will be a new game, and it will be also very important.
- What's Loko's goal in the League?
- Win every game. When the tournament ends, we'll draw the line. Now there's a Cup semifinal ahead, and our next goal is to win it.
