Lokomotiv signed Dmitriy Vorobyev
FC Lokomotiv and FC Orenburg agreed on the transfer of forward Dmitry Vorobyev. The duration of the contract is 3 years.
Vorobyev was born on November 28, 1997 in the village of Kubanskaya Step, Krasnodar. He began his football career at the Krasnodar Academy, making his debut for the club’s second team in April 2014. In total, Vorobyov played 72 matches for Krasnodar-2 and scored 20 goals.
For the first time for the main team of the Krasnodar club he played in August 2016, coming on as a substitute in the UEFA Europa League match against the Albanian Partizan.
In the following years, the footballer played for Afips, the Czech Hradec Kralove, Nizhny Novgorod, and Volgar. At the end of 2020, Dmitry moved to Orenburg. In the 2020/21 FNL season he scored 24 goals, becoming second in the list of league scorers. The next season began in Orenburg. Then the player was rented by Sochi.
Last season, Vorobyev played 31 matches for Orenburg (in 12 he was a captain), scored 8 goals and made one assist, becoming the team’s top scorer in the RPL.
In total, the striker has 281 games in his career, 87 goals scored and 23 assists. As part of Sochi, he took silver in the 2021/22 RPL.
During the current transfer window, many Russian clubs were interested in the footballer, but it was Lokomotiv that managed to beat their competition.
