Won All Three
Lokomotiv got the better of Ufa, registering the third victory in the series of preparation friendlies.
The third bounce game of Lokomotiv’s training and instruction camp was to be against FC Ufa. The other side had already changed their manager, acquired several promising players and notched two wins - over Spartak junior squad (5:0) and over FC Domodedovo (3:0).
Lokomotiv, too, approached the friendly on a pre-season winning streak, having beaten Istiklol 2:1 as well as Dolgoprudniy with the score of 7:1. Ahead of the new campaign the Railwaymen’s ranks swelled with many youth footballers, who had already taken to the field in previous matches. The selection to be pitched against Ufa was close to our best XI.
In the first half neither unit was particularly creative. Most of the action happened in the middle third of the park. Both teams tried to penetrate the rival’s back lines with lofted passes, but somehow none of those balls connected with the right head.
The second half turned out to be a lot livelier. Kasaev and Ignatiev added pace down the flanks. Miranchuk put in a marvellous display. It was Aleksey who set up the first goal: having picked up a pass on the verge of the penalty area, he dribbled past a few defenders and teed up Henty speeding towards the far post.
In ten minutes Lokomotiv doubled the score. The second goal was created by the trio of Kasaev, Skuletic and Kolomeytsev, the latter two recently subbed on. Petar took the ball down the wing to make a square pass inside where Alan, in his turn, fed Alexander who applied the finishing touch from ten meters’ distance.
There were no further changes in the score. Lokomotiv register their third consecutive victory within the current pre-season camp.
