Syomin: Active start brought victory
After the Europa League second-leg group stage clash with Fastav Zlin, Lokomotiv head coach Yuriy Syomin shares his view of the opponent's level, praises Mikhail Lysov, and tells about the tactics with two central defenders.
- It was the first game this season that we started so aggressively, and this brought us victory. It's been a while since our last international win and we made our supporters happy. And of course the table looks optimistic.
- You told the pre-match press conference you awaited a hard game.
- I wouldn't call it easy. It went well due to our aggressive start. We made many passes into the penalty area, behind the defenders' backs.
- Many coaches don't like the 2:0 score...
- Me neither. I like 1:0.
- Didn't you have doubts the team would sit back after such a start?
- In halftime we asked the players to keep the pace. They partly failed.
- How did you like Lysov today?
- He played pretty well. I saw no mistakes. He supported attacks and passed the ball - everything was okay. I think his passing accuracy must be around 90%. We'll analyze it tomorrow.
- Why didn't Barinov play?
- Some players play more, others play less. Maybe he'll make an appearance in the next game.
- Why did you go with two central defenders?
- We change tactics in almost every game this season. We start with one and go on with another. It's good when a team can play with two or three central defs. Sometimes there was just one. When Corluka is back we'll probably stick to one tactics.
- How did you like Zlin?
- A solid team. One does not simply go and win the Czech Cup.
