Loss In Kazan
Lokomotiv fell prey to Rubin in Gameweek 12 of the ROSGOSSTRAKH Russian Championship.
The match against Rubin was to be played without Corluka. The coaches decided to make use of Mykhalyk at the back, while Kolomeytsev filled in a position in midfield. The first half belonged to Loko. As early as two minutes underway, Miranchuk got into an optimal shooting position and could have slotted home an opener. The effort was too weak, though. Aleksey’s second wasted opportunity came in the middle of the half, when Samedov picked him out with a cross on the verge of the six-yard box.
As for Rubin, they spent the first 45 minutes creating nothing of note, however after the break our rival’s conversion was about perfect. The two set pieces turned proved crucial, converted into goals by Kanunnikov and Jonathas respectively.
In the remaining time Lokomotiv set up one more cool chance, when Maicon powered a diving header off a high cross from Kasaev. But the Brazilian's shot sailed past the goal, so Rubin carried the day.
