Lokomotiv Have Beaten FC Chernomorets

The Ukrainians were active in the first minutes trying to find a breach in Lokomotiv's defence but every time failed due to the back four's great work.

The first scoring opportunity came in the 9th minute when Pavlyuchenko received a pass from Maicon and took a shot sending the ball just over the crossbar.

Ten minutes later the Railwaymen had some fat chances to score. In one very promising attack Belyayev made a great pass to Aleksey Miranchuk who went for glory with his hallmark left footer but only shook a post.

Chernomorets responded dangerously: Gai saw Fomin in a good position and passed to him but Abayev played well and parried. Fomin picked up the ball and again tried to score, - again Abayev saved clearing the danger in an impressive run outside the area.

The second half began with a dangerous attack by the Railwaymen. Grigoryev, Kasayev and Miranchuk weaved a great combo that resulted in Maksim's attempt which was inaccurate.

Maksim was in the limelight during the next attack. Tigorev crossed to the box to find Grigoryev.  Maksim saw the keeper left the goal unattended and tried to send the ball to the empty net but defender Teiku played the last man.

In the 62nd minute the Sailors were close to scoring a cracker. Balashov foxed Yanbayev on the wing and passed to Fomin who rifled at the empty net but missed the target.

Lokomotiv responded with an attack that resulted in a direct free kick when Kasayev touched the ground. Pavlyuchenko decided to take a shot and did it perfectly setting the score at 1:0.

Although one wasn't enough for SuperPav. In the 73rd minute Shishkin carried the ball up front and passed to Roman whose powerful long-range blast nearly tore the net, doubling the lead.

The Sailors managed to score in the last minute. Danchenko entered the area from the flank and sent the ball accurately to the corner of the goal.
