Lokomotiv defeated Amkar in Gameweek 11 of the Russian Premier League retaining the second place in the tournament table.
The last fixture in Gameweek 11 of the Russian championship was Lokomotiv vs Amkar FC. It would be the third match in eight days for the Railroaders’– and a difficult one due to suspension of both the coach and the skipper from the previous weekend. Corluka’s position in the centre of defence was to be filled by Mykhalyk.
16 minutes into the game, the Railwaymen hurled the ball into the back of Amkar’s net. It would have made us all happy if Samedov did finally score other than in the Europa League, but alas Alexander was offside. Ten minutes on, Lokomotiv scored a legal goal when Kasaev crossed to Kolomeytsev who back-heeled it home – to the chagrin of his former team-mates.
Shishkin had a chance to double the lead. His long-range ball looked bound for the roof of the net but incredibly missed it somehow. Lokomotiv continued the onslaught, attack after attack, but Perm’s back line made no mistakes.
At the end of the game Lokomotiv’s efforts proved effective again when Samedov followed up on Miranchuk’s shot that bounced off a defender. In a few minutes it was Aleksey’s time to celebrate when Niasse fed him while the goal was gaping. Aleksey did not fire away but dribbled past a defender and just rolled the ball into the net.
Lokomotiv remain second from the top of the tournament table. Late in October the two sides will meet again in Cherkizovo for the Russian Cup match.
