Draw Against Dynamo

Lokomotiv drew against Dynamo in a Russian Youth Championship match of Gameweek 3.

Before the game, Lokomotiv received a serious reinforcement when the Euro-2015 runner-ups Dmitriy Barinov, Sergey Makarov and Rifat Zhemaletdinov joined the team. All three were put on the starting squad right off. However, one could not help but notice the guys still had to fit into the team the difficult tournament and a short leave. Luckily, there were many other effective players at hand.

One of them was Nikolay Kipiani. Just seconds into the match he earned a couple of free kicks, and in the fourth minute made Dynamo foul in the penalty area. But the goalkeeper guessed right and stopped Anisimov’s kick.

Anyway, Lokomotiv scored a cracker eventually. Galadzhan’s shot hit the post, but Kalyashin sliced the ball into his own net. However, late into the first half Dynamo leveled. Zhivoglyadov caught Katashevskiy’s cross from a free kick and sent it home with a neat finish.

In the second half the game calmed down. Nothing could persuade the teams to pick up pace – neither thunderbolt, nor the refreshing pouring rain, nor the numerous substitutions – all was in vain. One cannot reproach players for lack of will – in the heat of the action Lokomotiv and Dynamo did ‘earn’ some yellow cards - but there were few dangerous attacks after the break. The first-half score remained the same until the whistle.
