The youth team got a draw against Rubin
Lokomotiv youth team approached this game in the second place in the league after ten games with 25 points, while Rubin was fourth, four points behind. In addition, Rubin was the only team that defeated Lokomotiv this season, therefore our youth team had extra motivation to do well and take revenge.
The teams spent the first minutes of the half cautiously, but after the 20th minute Lokomotiv's advantage became tangible. Gritsak could have opened the score after Pershin's pass, but the ball went over the crossbar from 17 meters. Rubin responded with a shot from Strelchuk - Kasyanenko saved the ball from the bottom corner.
The second half began with Rubin’s goal. In the 48th minute Strelchuk was left alone in the penalty area, and Rubin's forward struck the ball into the back of the net after a cross from the wing.
The goal only provoked our team. For the next 20 minutes Lokomotiv practically did not leave Rubin's half of the field and could have scored two or three goals. Vertkov saved the hosts twice after shots from Kotelnikov and Ushakhin. Borisenko struck the ball next to the post, while Babkin's shot went just over the bar.
Lokomotiv managed to score an equaliser in the 74th minute. Pershin burst into the penalty area, crossed it to the far post, where Kasimov arrived and hit the ball with his head past the goalkeeper - 1:1.
Our team could have snatched the victory in the 90th minute. Borisenko entered the penalty area from the right and tried to put it in the near corner, but missed the target.
