'We're learning tactics and mind the form, too'
Lokomotiv are at their Bakovka training ground preparing for a League clash against Anzhi.
Getting ready for the departure, the team’s spirits are high. The victory on Gameweek 1 was not an easy one, but this fact makes it all the more pleasant.
The coaches were the first to come onto the field. Under their guidance the two pitches were carefully marked with cones, transforming them into a semblance of runways.
After a light warm-up, the players went over to strength training. Fitness coach Andrey Dmitriev counts down: “Three, two, one!” – and the Rilroaders set off at full speed from their places! Ilya Abaev is practising in the neighbouring lawn, following an individualized plan. So far it is the running drill alone.
A tactical bounce game turned out to be really brisk and close-contact. “Faster, faster”, - Oleg Pashinin prompts. Oleg Alekseyevich is wearing a training vest himself and is working alongside the others. The coach is in excellent shape!
'We're learning tactics and mind the form, too. - confirms Alexey Miranchuk. - We work hard and much. After the game against Mordovia the team is in good mood, but we cannot afford to slow down. The coming duel with Anzhi is expected to be taxing. I watched them play against Krylia the other day – the class difference is noticeable.'
Nikolay Kipiani, who was first registered for a Premier League game, carries on training with the main squad. 'I am so thrilled to be on, - he says. – I would love to make an outing as well. But the season has just begun. Hope my chance will come. Practising with the juniors was easier. Here pace is higher, and play is more intensive. It takes time to get used to it. I am well familiar with all the guys, though: we flew to the games together.'
