Lokomotiv Lost To CSKA
Lokomotiv lost to CSKA in Gameweek 27.
The Moscow derby was played out on a special holiday when the country remembers the victory in the Great Patriotic War. Our website has already told about the events the club organized to celebrate it. Prior to the kickoff, a People's Artist of Russia Valeriy Barinov read out Yuriy Solovyov's war poem and declared a moment of silence.
In the previous games, Lokomotiv obviously lacked the injured players. This time the lineup improved following Vedran Corluka's recovery. In the first half, the Croatian worked flawlessly: the defender dismantled the opponents' attacks, and helped his mates in the front. The rest of the back-four tried to be as good as their leader but nevertheless made a mistake in the 35th minute. Alan Dzagoev shook off his marker and took an accurate and powerful shot at the front corner.
Very soon Lokomotiv responded. Ignashevich made a bad pass to his teammate, Niasse intercepted it, rounded Berezutskiy and sent the ball into the back of the net. These were the only thrilling moments of the first half.
But just as the second half started, CSKA took the lead again. Tosic met no opposition as he was advancing to the goal, and had a go at the lower corner. The final scoreline was set in the 68th minute when Yanbaev brought down Tosic in his box. The referee awarded the visitors a penalty, Natcho made no mistake from the spot - 3:1.
