Lokomotiv Takes On Dynamo
On Sunday Lokomotiv had its first trial game before the restart of the season. The Railroaders entertained Dynamo.
The Russian Championship is set to resume in two weeks. After a three-month break Lokomotiv’s players are having a full-fledged training camp in Bakovka - and there is less than a month before the summer marathon begins. In the first trial game the Railroaders hosted Dynamo. The coronavirus brought in its own atmosphere - both teams wore face masks, gloves, used antiseptics and measured temperature, all according to regulations. That’s how the nearest games of the Russian championship will go, and we had a chance to try out all of the security measures prescribed.
The game was very typical for a training camp period: pretty slow pace, many tackles and substitutions. Our coaches made use of 22 players, including youngsters.
Lokomotiv could have scored twice in the first half. On ten minutes, Joao Mario set up Miranchuk one on one with the keeper but Alaxey failed to chip Shunin. Twenty minutes later Rybus crossed to the box where it was handplayed by Sosnin. The referee pointed at the spot but Miranchuk again failed to find the net.
Dynamo responded immediately after the break. Panchenko received the ball in a throw-in and blasted from the edge of the area, opening the score, 0:1. On 56 minutes, a minor brawl occurred. N’Jie kicked Lysov in the legs and was ejected . The Cameroonian’s place was taken by Danilin.
In the second half, the teams became more open. Krychowiak shook the post, Leshchuk tipped the ball away from under the crossbar after Zhemaletdinov’s attempt, Medvedev saved it when Parshivlyuk and Danilin had a go.
In the middle of the second half Lokomotiv made six substitutions, one of which proved successful. In the 78th minute Dorofeyev centered the ball, Rykov attempted to stop it but sent into his own net instead - 1:1.
Lokomotiv returned to Bakovka to continue training. Our first official game will take place on June 21st against Orenburg.
