Lokomotiv Extends Contract With Corluka

Lokomotiv has extended the contract with its captain Vedran Corluka. The new deal expires in summer 2021.

Vasiliy Kiknadze:

- The desire to extend the contract was mutual. Both sides made steps towards a compromise. It took us just minutes to discuss Vedran’s candidacy at the transfer committee. Also, the money matter was decided very quickly. Corluka is like an elder brother to the young guys. He’s an outstanding and experienced player, a leader on the field and in the dressing room. We have many Academy graduates who need further development, and we hope to use his experience to the team’s benefit. He is the one who can teach, explain, and what’s more important - demand. We wanted to have a loyal person who would help our youngsters improve.

Vedran Corluka:

- I am very happy to go on defending Lokomotiv’s colours. The negotiations took just a couple of minutes. I want to thank the management who were committed to making me stay. That’s what matters. From the very first year, I liked it here at Lokomotiv - the club, the city, the fans. If everything goes well - why change it? I cannot imagine myself outside of Lokomotiv and would like to end my career here.
