Fernandes Annihilates Zlin With Hat-Trick
Manuel Fernandes scores three goals in 17 minutes and helps Lokomotiv dismantle Zlin in the second leg of the Europa League group stage.
The tactics against Fastav Zlin employed two central defenders, Kverkvelia and Pejcinovic, with Ignatyev and Lysov acting as full-backs.
Lokomotiv opened the scoring on 2 minutes. Alexey Miranchuk earned a penalty, converted by Fernandes. Four minutes later Eder passed to the midfielder from the right, and Fernandes made no mistake. Minutes later the Portuguese sent the ball home after a lovely pass from Miranchuk.
The second half was a formality. Lokomotiv are to play against Dynamo in just two days so it was logical to switch to a power-saving mode. The Railroaders allowed the visitors create not a single chance, and were dangerous on the counter-attack.
Lokomotiv secured an undisputed victory and topped the group table. In the other game Copenhagen and Sheriff scored no goals.
