Henty: The stronger is the opponent, the better I play

Lokomotiv striker Ezekiel Henty has joined #OurCherkizovoLIVE show to comment on the game against Ufa (2:0) and his own performance.

- The game was interesting, we dominated throughout the match. We created a lot of good chances because the victory was vital to us. It was my second game for Lokomotiv, and the first home game. I experienced absolutely fantastic emotions on the pitch. I'm really glad we have won!

- In the second half you started moving to the flanks - was it the coach's idea or your own decision?

- The coach told me to do so. I like playing wide. Before the game the coached had instructed us to play wide in the attacking third. I'm mobile and constantly looking for spaces. It's hard to play in the centre all the time because you face two tough central defenders who stand like poles and don't let you do anything. Meanwhile, if you keep playing wide you can deceive them and that's where you can demonstrate your best skills, dribbling and pace. On the whole, it was difficult today because Ufa is a defence-minded team who came to claim a point.

- How would you evaluate your performance and do you find the competition hard after the Slovenian league?

- I had expected the Russian league to be stronger than the Slovenian one. If you remember my career, I started in Milan and was tactically unprepared. That's because I had come from Africa where your physique and individual talent are of greatest value. In Italy you don't get many chances when you're in a big club with many players, the club that struggles for the title. You're either fit, or leave. So I left. The Slovenian League was my deliberate choice. It's like making one step back for the sake of making two steps forward. And I didn't regret about playing there. Playing is what's most important for me. The stronger is the opponent, the better I play.

- How did you like the stadium and the support?

- Crazy stadium, crazy support, crazy fans. In my first day at Lokomotiv I already dreamt of playing here. I feel Lokomotiv is a big club. As for the amount of fans on the stands, I think we can attract more of them with our play and devotion. It's a natural process and I'll keep proving it with my play. - How about understanding between you and the team?

- It's natural, too. We play together and understand each other. But of course we have to spend more time together on the pitch to develop even better understanding. It's just a matter of time.
