Different Game In The Second Half – Fernandes
Manu Fernandes’ thoughts after the Rubin game (1:0):
- Everyone was expecting Rubin to defend tonight, but they end up aggressively attacked.
- The game was tough. Yes, we were expecting that Rubin will sit near their box, but from the first minute they’ve been very aggressive in attack and created good chances. They were better than us. It was a different game in the second half though. We looked stronger; we created real goal chances in every part of the pitch. That’s why we deservedly won tonight.
- After half-time Lokomotiv entered the pitch with more desire. Did Syomin use ‘hairdryer’ treatment?
- No, all emotions were usual. We’ve been losing all duels – that’s why we were suffering in the first half. We changed the system, became more aggressive and deservedly took all three points in the end. Speaking of coach’s emotions, these things are very important for the team. It was a good wake-up call for us.
- It was your 100th game as Lokomotiv player.
- I’m extremely delighted. If I was told two years ago that I’d play 100 games, I wouldn’t believe in that. Hope another hundred matches to go in Loko shirt!
