
Ovchinnikov Turns 47!
Today marks the birthday of one of the best goalkeepers in the history of Lokomotiv, Sergei Ovchinnikov.
Ovchinnikov made his debut for Lokomotiv on March 29, 1991. Railwaymen won against Metallurg Zaporizhya, and Sergei made a clean sheet. This match was the starting point in Ovchinnikov's brilliant career of. Together with Lokomotiv, he won his first medals - Bronze medal of Russian Top League in 1994 and Silver medal in 1995. Also, Ovchinnikov twice received the prize for the Russia's best goalkeeper.
The 'Boss' also won two Russian Cups in 1996 and 1997.
In 2002 he returned to Lokomotiv after 4 years' spell in Portugal. Ovchinnikov won twice Russian Premier League in 2002 and 2004, Bronze medals of the League and two Supercups in 2003 and 2004.
In total, Sergei Ovchinnikov played 366 games for Lokomotiv - it's third best result in Lokomotiv history.
