Fourth Game Tied
Lokomotiv and Kylia Sovetov drew against each other in Gameweek 4 of the ROSGOSSTRAKH Russian Football Championship.
Ahead of the kick-off against Krylia, our club had a few treats arranged specially for the fans. Nemanja Pejcinovic signed autographs for those who took the traditional tour of the stadium. Activities on the square at the steam engine followed a separate amusement program. Supporters of the two squads challenged each other in a fundraiser football game held to help former player of both Lokomotiv and Krylya, Alexander Averyanov, and numbers on our side’s match jerseys were made up of photos of season tickets holders.
There was another instance involving jerseys – this time it was to show support for Oleg Pashinin. The team’s kid mascots exited the tunnel donned in white shirts with words “Good Luck, Oleg” printed on them.
Lokomotiv were quickly on the front foot, the fact that very soon culminated in Aleksander Samedov firing against the crossbar. After the vigorous beginning, the game was sluggish on both sides for almost twenty minutes. Soon, however, the rivals traded two most promising attacks. The header by Skuletic was saved by Loria. At the other end Guilherme came to deny Kornilenko a goal.
The second half panned out in the same manner. Most of the time, the sides were anything but full of flair. Ten final minutes, however, witnessed enough for not one but two games. There was Maicon’s one-on-one duel that came to naught, alas, and the muffed penalty when Samedov failed to beat Loria from the spot. Krylia wasted two counter-attacking moves of their own, sending the ball wide in one and shaking the post in the other.
Lokomotiv draw their fourth meeting in the current campaign.
