Cherevchenko: ‘We knew it would be our last home game’
Lokomotiv acting head coach Igor Cherevchenko has told the post-match press conference the 1:1 draw with Kuban is a fair result.
- It’s been a dull game, without much motion on the pitch. Only in the second half did the we start to move and create chances. But I didn’t have to make the guys play, they knew themselves it would be their last home game, a lot of fans came to the stands. The players were great, it takes a lot to be able to score when you’re understaffed.
To me, it looked like Sunjic hit Niasse with an elbow. Yes, Baye Oumar had to stop himself but it was a provocation! Despite the disqualification, he’s going to St Petersburg with us.
- What’s with Boussoufa and Pavlyuchenko?
- Pavlyuchenko picked up a minor injury in the Final but he’s preparing for Zenit. Boussoufa has long been injured, he was upset he wasn’t able to help the team today. I don’t know whether he’ll play in St Petersburg.
