Andrey Fedorov is confirmed as a new senior figure in the recruitment department of Lokomotiv

Lokomotiv have given Andrey Fedorov a senior role in recruitment department.

- I have been in charge of Rubin recruitment department for many years and I am glad to return to work in this field. I am very pleased that I was invited by such a big club. We will make every effort to ensure that Lokomotiv develops and is always in the leading positions. My last job was also at Lokomotiv (Tashkent).. The city has changed, but not the name of the team. I stayed with the railway - it is very nice and symbolic.

The job is multifaceted: it is necessary to take into account the preferences of the head coach, the strategy and capabilities of the club and to manage issues collectively. Lokomotiv has enough young players who will be able to strengthen the first team in the future, so it is necessary to work closely with the Academy.

Profile

Andrey Fedorov was born on April 10, 1971 in Margilan, Uzbekistan. During his football career, he played as a defender. He started his professional career at Avtomobilist Kokand. From 1992 to 1997, he played for Neftchi, where he won the Uzbekistan championship four times and twice the Cup of the country.

In 1998 and 1999 he played for Alania and Baltika. He spent 8 years - from 2000 to 2008, at Rubin Kazan, the team with which he became the champion of Russia. As part of the Uzbekistan national team, he played 64 matches and in 1994 he became the winner of the Asian Games. In 1997 he was recognized as the footballer of the year in Uzbekistan.

After retiring from professional football in 2008, he moved to work in the recruitment department of Rubin, which he headed until 2012. After he left his role in the recruitment department, he worked as a head coach of Rubin's youth team. In 2015 he became the head coach of Neftchi, where he spent 3 years. In 2018 he took over Lokomotiv Tashkent, with which he won the league title twice and the Cup of the country, qualified multiple times to Asian Champions League, as well as was recognised as the coach of the year in Uzbekistan.
