Andrey Fedorov appointed as acting head coach of FC Lokomotiv
Andrey Fedorov has been appointed the acting head coach of Lokomotiv. The manager has started preparing the team for the Gameweek 13 fixture against Torpedo in RPL.
In 1998 and 1999 he played for Alania and Baltika. He spent 8 years — from 2000 to 2008, at Rubin Kazan, the team with which he became the champion of Russia. As part of the Uzbekistan national team, he played 64 matches and in 1994 he became the winner of the Asian Games. In 1997 he was recognized as the footballer of the year in Uzbekistan.
After retiring from professional football in 2008, he moved to work in the recruitment department of Rubin, which he headed until 2012. After he left his role in the recruitment department, he worked as a head coach of Rubin's youth team. In 2015 he became the head coach of Neftchi, where he spent 3 years. In 2018 he took over Lokomotiv Tashkent, with which he won the league title twice and the Cup of the country, qualified multiple times to Asian Champions League, as well as was recognised as the coach of the year in Uzbekistan.
In February 2021, he joined Lokomotiv as a part of selection team, and from March of this year he became the head coach of Lokomotiv-Kazanka, where he worked until June 2022.
