Alexander Kolomeytsev: My position implies many duties
Lokomotiv’s summer signing Alexander Kolomeytsev joined the team this morning. In a short interview with the Press Service the former Amkar midfielder told about the motivation and shared his impressions from the first practice.
- Lokomotiv is a step forward for me. A new stage that will bring the struggle for the high places and the right to play in the European competitions - I believe in this. In a word, it’s going to be a big responsibility. But it’s a great opportunity to display yourself on a new level, - says Kolomeytsev.
- How well do you know Lokomotiv?
- I watched it from the outside. But I have never been close with any of the guys here. On the way to Austria we spoke a bit. I will do my best to find common grounds with them on and off the pitch. I have received many congratulations and warm wishes when this move happened. I am thankful to everyone.
- I heard you’ve had a warm good-bye at Amkar.
- It’s a coincidence. The team are at the training camp in Turkey. They were training when I packed my bags to go to the airport. I came up to them and we said a very friendly good-bye. I spent five years with Amkar and learnt much there.
- Football experts say you have improved your leadership skills and stability over the years.
- I just tried to do the best I could in my position. A central midfielder position implies many duties, he has to push his team forward.
- What are your impressions from the first practice with the team?
- Very positive. Very active training with many exercises, with and without the ball. The mountain air is easy to breathe, the forest and a lake are near. I’ve been through a week of practices and I’m ready for more load.
